On November 9, 2008, a special moment during the service was reserved for anointing a man from Powdersville First Baptist Church. The anoinment was to prayer over him as he presently deals with some major health issues. It was determined that he has pneumonia in his left lung which resulted in the doctors finding a cancerous mass surrounding his bronchial tubes in the same lung. He will be having some tests done this week to determine what the next step is in the process. Surgery is an option, but he has a weak heart which has been in such a condition for over 40 years. On top of that, he has liver and kidney problems and is diabetic.
With all of this going on, the pastor set aside a time to anoint and lay hands on him in prayer. Ordained men of the church formed a line to pray over him individually, and then the congregation joined hands and prayed as a whole.
