Fall Festival

An annual Fall Festival/Trunk or Treat was held in the church parking lot tonight. Church members opened their trunks for kids to come and get candy and play games.

Most of the kids wore their costumes and the adults decorated their trunks with a fall theme.

Some of the adults even wore costumes.

Afterwards, adults and children participated in a cakewalk. The prizes were a choice between pumpkin cake, brownies, and cookies.

Some kids just 'trick-or-treated' for candy without a costume.

One youth put on a gorilla costume and mingled with some of the folks.

A few did not know what to think about that.

One of the games was bean bag tic-tac-toe. Two of the girls competed against each other.

After a few malfunctions from the board, the game ended in victory.

It was a good night overall. Adults and children had fun dressing up, playing games, and mingling with each other.

Schroeder Visit

In the last few years my Dad's mom has been living in senior apartments. She sold her house and had an estate sale because it was becoming to much maintenance for her by herself and at her age. Now, she has her own little place where she does not have to worry about cooking or cleaning. :)

Dad, Grandma and Mom mingle during a one-day visit to Columbia to see Grandma.

Dad helps Grandma clean up her plants after bringing them in from outside.

Grandma Schroeder

Aunt Nancy tells a story while Jonathan, Dad, Grandma, and Mom listen.

Dad laughs while Grandma chimes in on a conversation

Grandma laughs while Dad tells a story.

Aunt Nancy chimed in, too.

Grandma listens to Mom as she talks to Aunt Nancy.

Mom and Aunt Nancy look at a newsletter Grandma showed them that her apartment complex published about some recent activities.

Grandma talks to Mom and Dad as we got ready to leave.

Wedding Bells

Friday night we got a phone call from my cousin. She was going to be in a wedding on Saturday and needed a last minute fill-in to video. So, she asked my dad, and he agreed to do it. He also, brought me along as a second videographer, and as always, I took my still camera as well. Here are a few shots from pre-ceremony to post-ceremony.

First Ladies Supper

Last night the church we've been attending held an annual First Ladies Supper. The night began in the fellowship hall where the men served the ladies, young and old. After everyone finished their dessert, prizes were rewarded for the best table and various trivia.

To end the night, we moved to the sanctuary where two ladies sang a song, and my mom gave a testimony about my brother. She spoke about how even though the situations and circumstances she faced from the time of my brother's accident until now were difficult. However, through it all she leaned on God to help her put one foot in front of the other as she struggled through hard times.
